Effective date: October 10, 2026
The Church of the Firstborn respects the privacy of sincere readers, students, and inquirers. This policy explains what information may be collected through this website, how it is used, and how to contact us with privacy questions.
Information We Collect
- Information you submit voluntarily. If you use the contact form or book-order inquiry form, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, subject, message, requested publication, quantity, phone number if supplied, mailing address if supplied, and related notes.
- Basic website and security information. Like most websites, the server and security tools may process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, pages requested, date and time of access, referring URL, and security-event data. Security reviews may use an IP-network information service for approximate network/location information. This does not identify a visitor or establish precise physical location.
- We use Cloudflare to deliver and protect the website and measure website performance. These services may process technical request and performance information.
- Cookies and similar technologies. The site may use cookies necessary for WordPress administration, login security, spam protection, and ordinary site operation. The public site does not use advertising cookies for targeted advertising.
- Anti-spam verification. Public forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile or similar anti-spam tools. These tools process technical information needed to distinguish legitimate form submissions from automated abuse. Learn more in Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
- Limited security interaction information. For specific website security concerns, we may use first-party tools to record relevant interactions with public pages, including pointer and mouse events, keyboard use, and other relevant page event information. Such measurements do not record typed text, form-field values, clipboard contents, or authenticated or private page content. A short-lived first-party security cookie may associate relevant page visits.
How We Use Information
- to respond to inquiries and book-order requests;
- to administer, secure, maintain, and improve the website;
- to prevent spam, fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or malicious activity;
- to preserve records reasonably necessary for religious, historical, administrative, publication, or legal purposes; and
- to comply with applicable law or respond to lawful requests.
Detailed security measurement is limited to specifically selected traffic under review for suspected abuse or attempts to evade security measures. Information retained from these reviews is used solely for abuse prevention and website protection, not advertising or routine individual profiling of our readership.
Published Historical and Religious Materials
This website preserves and publishes religious, historical, biographical, and documentary materials. Some materials may name individuals where those names are part of a publication, historical record, official statement, disciplinary record, biographical account, correspondence, citation, or other legitimate religious or historical context. If you believe published material raises a privacy concern, contact us and identify the specific page or document at issue.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for targeted advertising. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate, secure, host, email, or protect the website, and may be disclosed if required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the website, the Church, its publications, or others.
Cloudflare may process technical security signals from this and other websites to detect bots and improve protection. We do not otherwise knowingly permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites through this site.
Retention
We keep submitted inquiries, order requests, server logs, and security records only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including responding to messages, administering publications or orders, maintaining security, preserving necessary records, and complying with legal obligations. Security records relevant to recurring abuse or attempts to evade security measures may be retained without a fixed expiration date while they remain necessary for website protection, subject to applicable law.
Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information you submitted through this website. Depending on where you live, privacy laws may provide additional rights. We will review requests in light of applicable law, religious and historical publication interests, security needs, and record-preservation obligations.
Our detailed first-party security measurements honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. These signals do not stop ordinary server logs or essential security processing.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not submit personal information through the forms.
External Links
This website may link to historical, documentary, social-media, or other third-party resources. Third-party sites are governed by their own privacy practices.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the website, forms, security tools, publications, or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
