Beliefs & Doctrines

The best concise statement of the Church’s beliefs is the twenty-four Articles of Faith of the Church of the Firstborn. The teachings and writings preserved here are sacred and should be approached by study, faith, and careful comparison with the sources.

God and Heavenly Parents

We believe in embodied, exalted, familial Deity: Father and Mother, Parents of spirits, with the Son acting in the Father’s name. See Nature of Deity, Adam-God, Two Trinities, Holy Ghost, and Heavenly Mother.

Two Gospels

The Gospel of the Son centers on salvation through Jesus Christ. The Gospel of the Father centers on exaltation, eternal family, and the Church of the Firstborn. See The Two Gospels.

Family Kingdom

Exaltation is not individual isolation. It is ordered family life: Celestial Marriage, Adoption, Consecration, Priesthood, Fathers and Mothers, Kings and Queens, Priests and Priestesses. See Plural Marriage, Law of Adoption, Matriarchal Priestesshood, Consecration & United Order, and Reincarnation and Multiple Mortal Probations.

First Family, Messiahship, and Lineage

The beginning of the world reveals Adamic Family Order, the Messianic Firstborn conflict, lawful seed, and covenant lineage. See Christ as Abel and Seth, Lineage and the Curse of Cain.

Priesthood and Succession

The Church of the Firstborn claims authority through a Patriarchal line, not merely through ordinary apostolic succession. See The Holy Order, The Priesthood Line, Council of Fifty, and Law of Succession.
